The Bourse d'Alger's 'Jours Fériés 2026' page (https://www.sgbv.dz/?page=rubrique&mod=84&lang=fr — the list is served as a PNG image, not text) forecasts Awal Moharram on 17 June and Achoura on 26 June 2026. Both are one day late. The Ministère des Affaires Religieuses et des Wakfs communiqué on the start of the Hijri year states that Tuesday 16 June 2026 is 1 Moharram 1448 and that Achoura (10 Moharram 1448) falls on Thursday 25 June 2026; the Ministry independently dates 23 Moharram 1448 to Wednesday 8 July 2026, which is arithmetically consistent only with a 16 June start. The dates served above are the Ministry's. AÏD EL ADHA is corroborated directly: the Ministry reports the Minister performing the rites of Yaoum Arafat (9 Dhou El Hidja) on Tuesday 26 May 2026, which places 10 Dhou El Hidja — Aïd El Adha — on Wednesday 27 May 2026, matching the exchange calendar. AÏD EL FITR 20-22 March is corroborated by the Ministry's Laylat al-Qadr ceremony on the night of Monday 16 March 2026 and by its Eid greetings reception on Monday 23 March 2026, the first working day after a Friday-start three-day break. EL MAWLID (26 August) is the only 2026 date still in the future at confirmation; it is served as PROVISIONAL because 12 Rabie El Aouel 1448 depends on the observed lengths of Moharram and Safar — astronomical estimates run 24-26 August — and Algeria determines Islamic dates by local moon sighting announced by the Ministère des Affaires Religieuses et des Wakfs, usually the evening before.
