Algeria SNMG

Algeria SNMG is 24000 DZD/month, in force since 1 Jan 2026. It was 20000 DZD/month before that. Last checked against the official source on 24 Jul 2026.

Algeria's single national statutory minimum wage. There are no occupational or regional variants. It is fixed by presidential decree under articles 80, 81 and 87 of Loi n° 90-11 du 21 avril 1990 relative aux relations de travail, expressed as a monthly amount for the legal working week of 40 hours (173.33 hours per month); the pay elements that count towards it are set by Décret exécutif n° 15-59 du 8 février 2015.

What this value means

A COMMON ASSUMPTION, CORRECTED: the SNMG is NOT 20,000 DZD. It was raised to 24,000 DZD (+20 %) by Décret présidentiel n° 26-01 of 7 January 2026, retroactively effective 1 January 2026 — verified in the gazette text itself, which expressly abrogates the 2021 decree. This is the fourth SNMG level since 2010 (12,000 → 15,000 → 18,000 → 20,000 → 24,000). The decree is signed by the President (Abdelmadjid Tebboune) and takes effect on a date stated in its own Article 3, which in Algeria's practice is often BEFORE the publication date — the 2021 decree was signed on 7 April 2021 but back-dated to 1 June 2020, a ten-month retroactivity. Consumers keying off publication dates will therefore mis-date this series; use the Article 3 date, as done here. The SNMG is the reference amount for a wide range of statutory ceilings and thresholds elsewhere in Algerian law (social-security caps, small-business eligibility thresholds, allowances expressed as multiples of the SNMG). METHOD NOTE: verified by scanning every French-language issue of the Journal Officiel published in 2026 (n° 01 to n° 52, to 21 July 2026) for texts fixing the SNMG — n° 01 is the only one. The Secrétariat Général du Gouvernement's annual 'Etat des textes législatifs et réglementaires publiés' (joradp.dz/TRV/F<year>B14.pdf) was used the same way to confirm no SNMG decree was published in 2017-2020 or 2022-2025.
