What this value means

Standard resident-company rate on Mainland Tanzania, long-standing at 30% under the Income Tax Act, 2004 (Cap 332, in force 1 July 2004). REDUCED RATES (context, not the value): 25% for three years for companies newly listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange with >=25% public float; 20% for new assemblers of vehicles/tractors/fishing boats (first five years) and for new pharmaceutical/leather manufacturers under a performance agreement; 10% (period-limited) for new manufacturers of sanitary pads. Finance Act 2026 (effective 1 July 2026) left the standard rate at 30%. The TRA page was not machine-fetchable at confirmation; the rate is confirmed via PwC Worldwide Tax Summaries (reviewed 14 Jan 2026) and Tanzanian practitioner tax guides. Zanzibar administers some direct taxes separately.
