What this value means
Togo has no national policy rate. Monetary policy is set union-wide by the BCEAO for all eight UMOA/UEMOA members (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo), so this value is identical across our Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal and Togo files by construction, not by copying. INDEPENDENTLY RE-VERIFIED at bceao.int: the 4 March 2026 communique states 'le principal taux directeur auquel la Banque Centrale prete ses ressources aux banques passe de 3,25% a 3,00%' and 'le taux d'interet sur le guichet de pret marginal de 5,25% a 5,00%', both 'a compter du 16 mars 2026'. The marginal lending facility rate (guichet de pret marginal) is therefore 5.00% - it is a distinct instrument and is deliberately NOT the value served here. The CPM met again on 10 June 2026 in Dakar and left both rates unchanged, so 3.00% is live as at the 2026-07-20 confirmation date; WAEMU cross-check against our CI and SN files passes on both value and effective_from. Note on membership: Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger withdrew from ECOWAS/CEDEAO in January 2025 to form the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) but REMAINED in UEMOA/UMOA and continue to use the XOF under BCEAO; the union is still eight members and the rate still binds Togo. Currency is the West African CFA franc (XOF), pegged to the euro at a fixed 655.957 XOF/EUR. The 'taux minimum de soumission' served here is the floor bid rate at the weekly injection auctions, which is the headline policy rate quoted in BCEAO communiques. Access: bceao.int loads over HTTPS without geo-blocking from our vantage point; all communiques are French-only, HTML with PDF attachments. Re-verify after each quarterly CPM meeting (typically March, June, September, December).
