CORRECTION — 14 JANUARY IS NOT A PUBLIC HOLIDAY. Décret Présidentiel n° 2021-223 (7 Dec 2021) repealed décret n° 2011-317 and replaced « Fête de la Révolution : 14 janvier » with « Fête de la révolution : 17 décembre : un seul jour ». 14 January has been an ordinary working day since. Any 2026 list that carries 14 January as Revolution Day is running on the pre-2022 statute. The decree's art. 1 fixes, verbatim: 1) Nouvel an de l'hégire — un seul jour; 2) Le Mouled — un seul jour; 3) Aïd el fitr — TROIS jours; 4) Aïd el idha — DEUX jours; 5) Nouvel an, 1er janvier; 6) Fête de l'indépendance, 20 mars; 7) Commémoration des martyrs, 9 avril; 8) Fête du travail, 1er mai; 9) Fête de la République, 25 juillet; 10) Fête de la femme, 13 août; 11) Fête de l'évacuation, 15 octobre; 12) Fête de la révolution, 17 décembre — each of items 5-12 « un seul jour ». No amending text was found up to 24 Jul 2026. SCOPE: the decree binds the State/public sector; private-sector paid holidays follow the Code du travail and the sectoral conventions collectives, which in practice track the same list but can differ on the number of Aïd days paid. 2026 GREGORIAN DATES — the Aïd dates below are NOT estimates: they are read off the Hijri/Gregorian datelines the Imprimerie Officielle prints on each JORT issue, i.e. the State's own civil Hijri calendar. JORT n° 31 = « Jeudi 29 ramadhan 1447 — 19 mars 2026 » and JORT n° 32 = « Mardi 5 chaouel 1447 — 24 mars 2026 », so 1 Chaouel 1447 = Friday 20 March 2026 and Aïd El Fitr ran 20-22 March. JORT n° 51 = « Mercredi 3 dhoulhija 1447 — 20 mai 2026 », so 10 Dhou El Hijja = Wednesday 27 May 2026 and Aïd El Idha ran 27-28 May. JORT n° 70 = « Mardi 29 moharem 1448 — 14 juillet 2026 » and n° 71 = « Mercredi 30 moharem 1448 — 15 juillet 2026 », so 1 Moharram 1448 = Tuesday 16 June 2026 and 1 Safar 1448 = Thursday 16 July 2026. EL MOULED IS THE ONE UNSETTLED DATE: 12 Rabia I 1448 falls on 25 August 2026 if Safar 1448 runs 29 days (the astronomically expected outcome — new moon 12 Aug 2026, first crescent evening of 13 Aug) and on 26 August if it runs 30. It is announced by the Grand Mufti of the Republic on the sighting of the moon and had not been proclaimed at confirmation — re-check in mid-August. In 2026 Aïd El Fitr collides with the Fête de l'Indépendance on 20 March, so the calendar yields 14 distinct non-working dates rather than 15. No Monday-transfer or lieu-day rule exists in Tunisia: 25 July 2026 falls on a Saturday and is simply lost.
