Underlying (core) inflation, excluding food and energy, 4.9% in June (4.8% in May) — the BCT's communiqués quote a core measure on a slightly different basis, so core figures from INS and BCT will not always agree; the headline series is the one served here. Drivers in June: food +7.1% YoY (mutton +18.3%, beef +13.6%, poultry +13.5%), manufactured goods +4.7%, services +4.3% with accommodation +15.4%. Direction: Tunisian headline inflation bottomed near 4.8% in January 2026 after the 2023 disinflation, then re-accelerated to 5.5% in April and May before easing to 5.3% in June — this re-acceleration is exactly what the BCT cited on 30 Mar and 3 Jun 2026 when it stopped cutting.
