Tunisia minimum wage
Salaire minimum interprofessionnel garanti (SMIG) — the statutory minimum wage for the NON-AGRICULTURAL private sector, fixed by decree under article 134-3 of the Code du travail (loi n° 66-27 du 30 avril 1966). Tunisia fixes the SMIG on two working-week bases (48 hours and 40 hours) and as both a monthly and an hourly amount; this series carries the MONTHLY 48-hour-week figure. Agriculture has a separate statutory minimum, the SMAG, set as a DAILY rate by a companion decree (see notes).
| Current value | 554.736 TND/month (SMIG, régime 48 heures par semaine; see notes for the 40h, hourly, SMAG and under-18 figures) |

What this value means
TWO STATUTORY MINIMUM WAGES. (1) SMIG — non-agricultural, décret n° 2026-67 du 30 avril 2026, art. 1, a THREE-YEAR schedule applied retroactively: from 1 Jan 2026 — 554,736 TND/month at 48h/week and 470,251 TND/month at 40h/week, hourly 2,667 TND (48h) and 2,713 TND (40h); from 1 Jan 2027 — 582,400 (48h) and 493,304 (40h), hourly 2,800 and 2,846; from 1 Jan 2028 — 611,520 (48h) and 517,571 (40h), hourly 2,940 and 2,986. Art. 3: workers under 18 receive 85% of the corresponding amount. NOTE THE 40h RATE IS LOWER PER MONTH BUT HIGHER PER HOUR — the 40-hour régime is a shorter week, not a worse rate, and quoting the two monthly figures side by side without the working-week basis is the standard error with Tunisian data. (2) SMAG — agricultural, décret n° 2026-66 du 30 avril 2026 (same JORT, p. 899), a DAILY rate for workers aged 18 and over: 21,336 TND/day from 1 Jan 2026, 22,400 from 1 Jan 2027, 23,520 from 1 Jan 2028; the same decree fixes two accompanying daily allowances (1,138 / 1,195 / 1,255 TND and 2,140 / 2,247 / 2,359 TND over the same three years) whose Arabic captions were not machine-extractable. Both decrees were signed and gazetted on 30 April 2026 but take effect from 1 January 2026, so the arrears were paid retroactively; a watcher keyed to the publication date will read the change four months late. Amounts are quoted in dinars to three decimals (millimes) — 554,736 TND is five hundred fifty-four dinars and 736 millimes, NOT 554,736 dinars. ACCESS: JORT n° 44 exists on the mirror only in the Arabic edition (the « traduction française pour information » of that issue is not mirrored; neighbouring issues 43 and 45 are). The figures above were read from the Imprimerie Officielle's digitally-signed PDF — Arabic glyphs do not extract but the Western-Arabic numerals and decree numbers do, and they match the amounts reported by Tunisian press.
