What this value means
SMIG = 75 000 FCFA/month, a 25% rise from the previous 60 000 FCFA, set by Décret n°2022-986 du 21 décembre 2022 after tripartite consultation, effective 1 January 2023. SMAG ATTRIBUTION WITHDRAWN (2026-08-07): the widely-circulated claim that the same decree set the agricultural SMAG at 39 960 FCFA/month is NOT substantiated — the decree as reproduced article-by-article has only three articles (Art. 1 fixes the SMIG at 75 000 from 1 January 2023; Art. 2 repeals contrary provisions, superseding Décret n°2013-791 du 20 novembre 2013; Art. 3 charges the Minister of Employment with execution), and neither the CNPS communiqué nor the Council of Ministers communiqué of 21 December 2022 mentions any SMAG revaluation. The 39 960 figure circulates only in secondary blogs without an instrument. We therefore serve NO SMAG value: its instrument has not been identified, and we refuse rather than guess. The Code du Travail envisages review roughly every three years, so a further revaluation is plausible around 2026 — unions (UGTCI, Dignité, Humanisme) have publicly called the current floor insufficient — but no new decree is in force as of 2026-07-15. Value confirmed to a named statutory instrument (Décret n°2022-986); URL is a legal-database reproduction of the decree text (the official gazette PDF was not reachable at check time). CITATION NOTE (2026-08-07): the previous citation URL was a private legal blog (loidici.biz) reproducing the decree text; the citation now points at the CNPS communiqué on the official cnps.ci host, which names the instrument, both values and the effective date. The blog reproduction remains the only known full-text copy (three articles) and was used solely to check the decree's article structure, never as the citation.
