What this value means

Reference month June 2026, released 8 July 2026. INE's release states a deceleration of 0.76pp on the previous month and 9.62pp on the same month a year earlier (June 2025 was 19.73%) — Angola is in a sustained, broad disinflation, with the YoY rate falling every month of 2026 so far. Companion figures published by the BNA from the same INE release: variação mensal 0.52% (June) after 0.53% (May), variação acumulada Jan-Jun 3.42%. Largest YoY class increases in June 2026: Transportes 15.40%, Educação 13.40%, Habitação/água/electricidade/combustíveis 11.14%, Alimentação e bebidas não alcoólicas 10.73%. The BNA's 130th CPM communiqué (14 Jul 2026) reports the provincial spread from the same INE data: ten provinces in single digits, lowest Huambo 7.53%, Lunda-Norte 7.65%, Cunene 7.75%, Cuanza-Norte 7.88%; LUANDA province 9.96% — Luanda is a SEPARATE index from the IPCN and runs slightly below it, so do not serve the Luanda figure as the national one, and note that Angola's headline series is the NATIONAL IPCN (the Luanda-only IPC was the headline series historically, which is a common vintage trap in Angolan data). The June 0.52% monthly print absorbed administered increases of 5.00% in diesel and 10.00% in electricity tariffs. Context: the CPM revised its end-2026 inflation projection down to 8.6% ±1pp on 14 Jul 2026. Next release: IPCN July 2026, expected in the first week of August 2026. ACCESS NOTE: ine.gov.ao renders its publication pages server-side and is fetchable, but the FIR PDFs (Arquivos/arquivosCarregados/.../Publicacao_*.pdf) carry no extractable text layer; the publication-detail HTML page carries the headline YoY figure in plain text and is the reliable machine-readable target. Detail-page ids are opaque base64 (June 2026 = NTU0ODQ=).
