The dominant driver is TRANSPORT, contributing 7.3 of the 10.7 percentage points: the transport group index jumped from 160.2 in March to 193.9 in April 2026 (a 6.7 percent one-month rise in the ALL ITEMS index, from 141.4 to 150.9) on domestic fuel-price increases linked to the Middle East conflict. Other contributors: Miscellaneous Goods & Services 1.2pp, Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages 0.9pp; Housing/Water/Electricity contributes -0.1pp. Regional rates June 2026: Cities & Towns 10.2 percent, Urban Villages 10.4 percent, Rural Villages 12.1 percent.
