NOTE THE SECOND, DIFFERENT INFLATION MEASURE in the same bulletin: Tableau 1.2 states inflation against the CEMAC convergence criterion as a 12-month MOVING-AVERAGE rate, which for June 2026 is only 1.7% nationally (Brazzaville 1.3%, Pointe-Noire 1.8%, Dolisie 2.4%, Owando 3.0%, Ouesso 3.0%) against a 3% CEMAC ceiling - do not confuse the two; the gap between the two measures is now 4.2 percentage points. THE JUMP FROM 4.5% TO 5.9% IS A BASE EFFECT, NOT A PRICE SURGE: the index rose only 0.1% on the month (124.3 -> 124.4); the annual rate moved because June 2025 was a low base. Main y/y drivers: produits alimentaires et boissons non alcoolisees +7.6% (contributing +3.41 points, more than half of total annual inflation), restaurants et hotels +5.7%, biens et services divers +5.0%; monthly drivers were biens et services divers +2.5%, boissons alcoolisees/tabac +1.3%, restaurants et hotels +1.1%, alimentation +0.9%.
