Art. 1: SMIG set at 70,400 francs CFA per month of work, 'valable sur l'ensemble du territoire national et dans tous les secteurs d'activites' - so this is a SINGLE national floor, NOT a sectoral or regional matrix. Art. 2 makes upward realignment of collective-agreement and public-body pay scales automatic where they fall below 70,400. Art. 4: the decree takes effect from 1 January 2025. Art. 5 expressly repeals Decret n. 2008-942 du 21 decembre 2008 (previous SMIG). TRAP CORRECTED: a widely circulated figure of ~90,000 XAF/month is NOT the statutory SMIG and is not supported by any instrument we could find; the verified legal amount is 70,400. ACCESS QUIRK: the decree PDF is a SCAN of the signed original with no text layer (rendered to image and read visually), and it is hosted on oarh.cg (Observatoire des Ressources Humaines) rather than sgg.cg - it bears the Presidency/SGG letterhead, the decree number, and the full ministerial signature block, but a Journal officiel-hosted copy would be the stronger citation and should be substituted when located. Monthly figure is gross (brut); no separate agricultural or domestic-worker floor was found.
