What this value means
TWO DIFFERENT NUMBERS, DO NOT CONFLATE. INEGE's headline 'tasa de inflacion' for June 2026 is 2,3% - that is the TWELVE-MONTH MOVING AVERAGE, reported against the CEMAC multilateral-surveillance ceiling of 3%. The value served here, 3,5%, is the year-on-year figure INEGE reports in the same release as 'En terminos interanuales, el Indice de Precios de Consumo aumento un 3,5%', which is the internationally comparable measure and the one this series carries throughout. Core inflation (inflacion subyacente) for June 2026 was 2,5%. Drivers cited: food and non-alcoholic beverages +1,1%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco +3,1%, transport +3,8%, health +3,5%, furnishings and household maintenance +1,8%. ACCESS QUIRK: inege.gq (the domain still used in the site's own image URLs) does not resolve; the live institute site is inege.org, and it returns HTTP 403 to default clients - a browser User-Agent header is required. Individual releases are best retrieved via the WordPress REST API (index.php?rest_route=/wp/v2/posts/<id>) because the themed pages are JavaScript-heavy; this is how every value in this series was verified. Publication lag is roughly four to six weeks; contrary to the common assumption that Equatorial Guinean statistics are irregular, INEGE has in fact published every month without a gap through the period covered here.
