What this value means
Equatorial Guinea has NO national policy rate. Monetary policy for the CEMAC zone (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon) is set by BEAC in Yaounde; this identical value and effective date must appear in all six CEMAC country files. Verified directly from the BEAC communique PDF, which I downloaded and text-extracted: the CPM's second ordinary session of 2026, held Monday 29 June 2026 at Yaounde under Governor Yvon Sana Bangui, decided to lower the TIAO from 4.75% to 4.50%, the marginal lending facility rate from 6.25% to 5.75%, and reserve requirement coefficients from 7.00% to 6.50% on sight deposits and 4.50% to 4.00% on term deposits; the deposit facility rate was held at 0.00%. The same communique records the BEAC Services' May 2026 CEMAC projections for 2026: growth 3.2%, average annual inflation 2.4%, external coverage of the currency 70.7%. Access quirk: the formal instrument, Decision N.01/CPM/2026, is published at https://www.beac.int/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/D%C3%A9cision-N%C2%B001-CPM.pdf but is a scanned image PDF with no text layer, so the operative rate was read from the signed communique instead. Note also that BEAC's own /politique-monetaire/decisions-de-politique-monetaire/ index mislabels the ordering of the June 2026 and December 2025 decisions - do not rely on that page's sequence. An intervening CPM session on 2 April 2026 left the TIAO unchanged at 4.75%, so it generates no history entry. Currency is the CENTRAL African CFA franc (XAF), a distinct currency from the West African XOF used by UEMOA; both are pegged to the euro at 655.957 but they are not interchangeable and are issued by different central banks.
