What this value means
The fixed holidays (1 Jan, 4 April Independence, Lundi de Pâques, 1 May, Ascension, Lundi de Pentecôte, 15 Aug Assomption, 1 Nov Toussaint, 25 Dec Noël) rest on Loi n° 74-52 of 1974. Good Friday (Vendredi Saint) is NOT a national public holiday in Senegal (unlike Lundi de Pâques) and is deliberately excluded. No single free government page publishes the consolidated 2026 dated list. CORRECTED AND PRIMARY-SOURCED 2026-08-07. Two Islamic dates were WRONG - they followed the dissident CMS calculation, not the official CONACOC observation: Korité corrected 2026-03-20 -> 2026-03-21 (CONACOC: no crescent sighted 19 March by 485 observers; the President performed the Eid prayer Saturday 21 March, presidence.sn), Tabaski corrected 2026-05-27 -> 2026-05-28 (CONACOC 28 May; APS covers the state prayer on the 28th). No Senegalese instrument declared the CMS days chômé - reports of '27 and 28 both férié' are NIGER (ordonnance n° 2026-12), Mali and Guinea, routinely mis-attributed to Senegal by search aggregation; beware. Added 2026-01-19, declared férié, chômé et payé by décret n° 2026-0001 after the CAN 2025 victory (one-off, flagged one_off). Magal 2026-08-02 verified correct (Sunday; no carry-over décret - the statutory Monday carry-over covers only Korité and Tabaski). Maouloud 2026-08-25 remains provisional until CONACOC observation. Citation moved from joursferies.fr (aggregator) to the promulgated Loi 74-52 text on dri.gouv.sn; the ideal consolidated citation (Loi 2013-06 on jo.gouv.sn, article10101) is unreachable - the JO site is down - re-cite it when it returns.
