What this value means

14% since fiscal year 2017/18 (Egypt's FY starts 1 July); 1 percentage point is earmarked for social justice programs. Reduced 5% rate on production machinery/equipment; exports zero-rated; registration threshold EGP 500,000. Law 157/2025 (Jul 2025) and the June 2026 amendments moved items between schedules and the standard regime without touching the 14% rate.
