What this value means
Reference month June 2026, released 9 July 2026. This is annual URBAN headline CPI inflation — the standard Egyptian headline measure and the CBE's target variable; CAPMAS is the producer (10th CPI series, base FY2018/19 = 100). 14.3% YoY, down from 14.6% in May 2026; MoM -0.4% (food-price declines). Verified via the CBE's official CPI press release, which republishes the CAPMAS figures verbatim — capmas.gov.eg and the CBE's main inflation pages block generic fetchers (F5 WAF), but the press-release URLs respond to a browser User-Agent. CBE monthly inflation note followed 15 July 2026; next CPI release ~10 August 2026.
