What this value means
Served as null rather than a guess: the widely quoted SMIG of RWF 100/day dates from a 1970s ministerial order under a long-repealed labour code — obsolete, unenforced, and untraceable to any official primary source, so it is not published as current. A MIFOTRA draft ministerial order has been pending for years; monitor mifotra.gov.rw and the Official Gazette — its adoption is the event most likely to change this record. Judicial reference only (not statute): the Supreme Court used RWF 3,000/day in Soras AG Ltd v Umuhoza (2016). In practice wages are set by market forces and sectoral agreements.
